The LensAlert! digital timer provides people with an easy way to track their lens and case wear. Contact lenses start to break down after the recommended wearing period causing rips or pieces of the lens to tear off. Lens cases can develop bacteria and fungi after only 3 months of use and though it is good practice to boil the case in hot water, it will never entirely remove the bacteria that seeps into the plastic material of the case.
